It has been way too long between The Gratitude Files posts, I know! Every time I go to write one, I feel like there are so many things to catch up on/tell you about, that I get totally overwhelmed and it just doesn’t happen. So I’m just going to shine light on two things on my geez life is awesome list right now. (And I promise a more regular update!)
Get Unstuck: A Workbook to Create Clarity, Ignite Your Spark & Keep You Moving Forward – has arrived.
I’ll be honest, the last quarter of finalising the design, links and layout etc. almost kicked my butt. But all of your incredible support and encouragement on Facebook seriously kept me going last night/this morning! I LOVE you.
So what – exactly- have I got for you?
The full potential and possibility of this workbook lies in printing it out and pouring through it with your favourite pen – pausing where you feel called to, playing around with what resonates and diving in deep when the desire strikes.
In my early twenties, I didn’t have a huge number of girl friends. I’ve always had a couple of close besties, but I generally never ‘clicked’ with many other girls. I always found it so much easier to make friends with boys – I felt they were more easy going, less bitchy and the big one – I felt they didn’t judge me.
I realise now, that a lot of the walls I was holding up around other ladies in my life were directly connected to my own fears and insecurities – being afraid of what others thought of me, comparison and even competition.
However, over the past year I have felt the female relationships in my life shift dramatically. I have opened my heart to other women, I’ve dropped the comparisons, the gossip and bitchiness and completely embraced the freaking amazing females in my life.
This post is an excerpt from my upcoming eBook Get Unstuck which launches next Tuesday 11th February. A workbook to create clarity, ignite your spark and keep you moving forward. Read to the bottom for details on how you can snap up your FREE copy and contribute some of your wonderful ideas to the book…
It was during a coaching sesh with my blog and business coach – yep, coaches get coached – where she asked me ‘what problems do your readers face?’, that I realised I hadn’t asked you that question in a while.
You know, as a coach, creative, writer and blogger it’s incredibly important for me to feel useful.
I have a burning desire to make things better, to lift people up.
I want my work to empower you to show up and move forward. I want to be able to give you the tools you need to live the life you were born to live. In order to be of service however, I need to know what is holding you back. I need to know where your fears lie.
Have you got a word for 2014? Something that sums up your intentions for the year?
My word for this year is CREATE.
I want to make stuff. Awesome stuff. Useful stuff. Stuff that will inspire you, connect with you and make your life better.
So in the spirit of create, I’ve come up with a new monthly segment for This is Lifeblood!
This segment will consist of a video and a free (pretty!) worksheet and it’ll be called Monthly Magic Making. You in?
Let me preface this post by saying that I am a messy crafter. So please excuse the mess in the background of the crafty pics – as well as the chocolate under my fingernails. Oops!
Christmas seems to bring out the crafter in us all, don’t you think? It’s many people’s favourite time of year to drag out the craft box and reacquaint themselves with their PVA glue, coloured ink pad and sequins.
Homemade = Bestmade when it comes to Christmas gifts, so why don’t you carve out some time this weekend for your very own Christmas Crafternoon?
But first, to the chocolate.
Oh yes, the new year is beckoning! 2014 is hot on our heels my friends and I know you can feel the energy it’s bringing with it; excitement, motivation, anticipation. Maybe a sprinkling of fear and uncertainty, but generally, this time of year is always buzzing with celebration and connection and I bloody love it.
I’ve got some big dreams for 2014. How about you? Are you going to make it your best year yet? I sure hope so! I hope you’re eagerly dreaming up all the wonders 2014 will bring into your life and setting intentions like its going out of fashion (it isn’t).
But before we jump into next year, let’s slow right down and take a look in the rearview mirror. Let’s celebrate 2013. Let’s reflect on 2013. Then, let’s release 2013. Let’s wind-down the year with a whole lotta gratitude, a fair chunk of acceptance and a bucketload of love.
2013 has been easily the most painful and generous, eye-opening and soul-awakening, thrilling and authentic, heart-crushing and spirited year of my life thus far. It’s exhausted and exhilarated me. And to be honest, I’m ready to release it.
I’ll go first shall I? Here’s my 25 reflections on the year just gone.

Just a quickie today. Ha.
‘Oh wow Claire, you’ve ahhhh, completely turned off your sexuality’
‘Ugh, tell me about it. It’s like it’s just completely… Gone’
‘Hmmmm… I’ll try opening it up for you, but it’s reaaaallly closed up.’
Sound strange? That was a conversation I recently had with my reiki practitioner Fiona, who discovered during a recent healing session that I have in fact shut my sexuality down.
And she’d hit the nail right on the head.
Hasta la vista, baby. My sexiness has left the building.
Let me explain.
