I haven’t made my journey with Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) much of a secret. I’ve written here, here and here all about my experience coming off the contraceptive pill after over a decade of usage, only to find that my period didn’t come back – for a year!

Diagnosed with PCOS and given butt-loads of conflicting and confusing advice from friends, family, my GP, Google, books and blogs, it was a challenging and confronting year at times as I set out ‘debunking PCOS’. I’ve also made no secret about just how much Nat Kringoudis (as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist and Natural Fertility Educator as well as women’s wellness blogging SUPERSTAR), helped bring clarity to my situation and empowered me to make the best decisions for my body.

I recently had the honour of sharing my story with Nat over on her website in a video interview and if you’re a female, you’ve ever been on the contraceptive pill, you’re struggling with hormonal issues or acne, you’ve ever thought about having babies or you suffer with PCOS (or know someone who does), then I highly recommend you make some time to watch this interview. I’ve shared more with Nat about my personal struggles with PCOS, how I ‘found’ my period and my groove again and most importantly, how I nurtured my body with patience and gentleness. I’ll be really honest with you. Talking about this (quite personal) stuff is scary at times. Talking about periods and hormones and the like, on such a public forum, can feel uncomfortable. But I know that ‘putting it all out there’ is so key to spreading the message of true, natural and informed wellness. I want to empower you to make your own decisions for your health, based on a wealth of unbiased information and a desire to really know and listen to your own body. When we know more about our body, we make better decisions for our body.

If you’d like to find out more about Nat’s Debunking PCOS eCourse, you can do so right here.

It’s in this strain of ’empowered knowledge’, that I’m incredibly excited to be giving away TWO tickets to Nat’s upcoming Debunking PCOS event in Perth on the 10th May.
