Elegant, eloquent truth. Passionate, purpose-soaked prose that gets under your skin and sends a tingle down your spine.

Luscious, no? I think yes.

If you’re a devotee of the aforementioned style of writing (and you’re here, so I believe you are), then my friend, I have something veerrryyyyy special for you today. Meet Jasmine Matthews.

Jasmine is a holistic health coach who specialises in nutritional and energetic healing over at Simply Replenished. She’s also a Mama and a creator and a wonderful human being. I have had the honour of contributing to and participating in Jasmine’s online seasonal cleanses and let me tell you, they (and she) are magic. Hearing her delightful New Zealand accent on her educational audios never fails to make me smile!

Know this: Jasmine’s fervour for science is inextricably linked with her belief in a higher power. This woman has an undeniable desire to serve, to evolve, to seek.

I’m so damn thrilled to have her sharing on the blog today. Do enjoy.

+ Tell us, what makes up your lifeblood?

Self-evolution. It always has been. Ever since I was a young child I have been seeking something greater. I have always known that there was more to life than what initially meets the eye. My passion is to be on this beautiful quest to see the things that most of us don’t usually see.

Also education. I have an insatiable thirst for learning. Some would say to a fault ? I have done more courses and workshops than I can remember. I just love knowledge. But the funny thing is, the more I learn, the more I am starting to understand that there is a LOT we need to unlearn!

On top of those two things… The stuff that makes up my lifeblood is the extraordinarily ordinary things. Watching my son sleep. Laughing at my husband’s antics until I fear peeing my pants. Going to farmers markets and buying long blacks. Really super fresh kale. A text from a friend that makes me laugh out loud in a crowded street. Living life.

+ Eleanor Roosevelt said, The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Whats your beautiful dream?

To continue to evolve and awaken. To capture more and more moments of enlightenment. And to be able to guide/coach/mentor people so that they can capture those moments too.

My dream is to create a ripple affect, in the exact same way that you and so many other people are doing, so that this world has NO choice but to grow brighter, lighter, and to evolve as an entirety. And what is REALLY exciting about this dream is that it is, in fact, a current reality.

+ What benefits has prioritising a healthy lifestyle had on your life?

Huge. Massive. In all areas. I used to walk around in a fog. Brain fog, anxiety, and a deep seeded sadness were all part of my normal routine. The impact of eating healthy has completely revamped my entire existence.

My relationships are so much better. I have always had amazing friends and a beautiful family, but it took cleaning up my body and mind to really see that.

I just get so high on life now. And I am less (so much less) fearful of death. Living clean gets so exciting as I witness person after person jumping on board and declaring that this is the road to awesomeness. Because it is.

A lot of people think that clean food, and drug/alcohol free nights are boooooring. But, let me tell you firsthand, that this is so far from the truth.

+ Exploring, breaking the routine, bending the rulesHow do you ensure you maintain an element of playfulness and adventure in your everyday happenings?

This has definitely been something that has crept up into my world in recent times. I think I have my son to thank for this. When I am with him, I tend to follow his lead. I will get down on the pavement and scratch at stones and dirt with him. I will dance in the street with him if that is what he is egging me on to do.

Taking myself too seriously has definitely been a theme for me in this life, so it’s quite liberating to realise how silly that whole mindset is.

+ Whats the best advice youve been given – and who gave it to you?

I honestly can’t narrow this one down. I have met so many inspirational people. But a GREAT one was spoken by Marc David (whom I adore).

He said (and I’m paraphrasing here), “Imagine if your current state of life was exactly how it would be for the rest of your life. Your finances, your level of health, who your friends are. Everything. What would you do? How would you live your life?” [Wow, I love this! – Claire]

Marc is a great teacher of living life NOW. Not waiting until you are the perfect weight, or have the perfect health. Your life starts now. Actually it started the day you were born.  Stop waiting for everything to be “perfect” before becoming the “real you”. You are the real you right now.

What’s your favourite…

1. Travel destination: Anywhere I haven’t been before.

2. YouTube Vid: I don’t really have one to be honest but I highly recommend watching anything from Eckhart Tolle ?

3. Blog: Tara Bliss/Rachel MacDonald

4. Breakfast: Oats + Cinnamon + Banana + Almond milk with a sprinkle of chopped nuts.

5. Quote: “If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. Primary reality is within; secondary reality without.” (Eckhart Tolle)

+ What role does creativity play in your life and how do you honour it?

Life IS creativity. I have always had a creative outlet. Music, photography, writing, computer based designing. The arts were given priority in my family whilst I was growing up, so it’s just a natural part of me.

I’m a huge fan of writing. I did a University degree majoring in English Literature, with grand plans of writing an epic novel. I stopped writing for a lot of my mid-late 20’s, as I was too busy rebelling against the world and having fun. But it is, most deliciously, starting to creep back in. That novel is back in focus ?

+ How has having a blog changed things for you?

Beginning my blog and business has been THE most transformative thing I have ever done. I can’t even begin to imagine the course of my life if I hadn’t done this. I honestly think, however, that the main reason for this is due to the people that I have met along the way.

Other bloggers, and other business creators have been pivotal catalysts for my inner transformation over the last few years. It’s a funny paradox though, because although I fully believe that we have everything we need inside of us to heal and to evolve, I also think that the support, guidance, and wisdom of others is SO key in getting to where you want to go.

+ What message does your one-year-from-now-self have for you?

Keep your sense of lightness. Keep your eye on the big (and I mean BIG) picture.

+ Can you share with us your secret indulgence?

Mmmmmm. Secrets eh ? If you had asked me this question 5 years ago, I would have had a whole suitcase full of secret indulgences haha.

There is only one thing that really springs to mind right now, so I’m going to go with it, and that is watching my son sleep. Argh cheesy I know. He is 2.5 years old and daytime can be quite active and go-go-go. Seeing him sleep so peacefully really calms me. I lie beside him on the bed and finally get the chance to just rest, breathe, and be. [OMG, melting! – Claire]

I wonder how old he has to get before that starts to become kinda creepy?
