I think it’s awesome that the more I share my own journey of adoring my menstrual cycle and structuring my life around the changes and phases I move through each month, the more questions I receive from other curious seekers. While I know that for some women (and men) it feels weird, gross or uncomfortable to talk […]

It’s in the spirit of supporting, inspiring and sharing the love that I excitedly bring you the first edition of the She Is Radiant Soul Sessions. A video series of interviews with 5 of my favourite radiant ladies and experts in their fields.
To celebrate the release of the She Is Radiant Toolkit and She Is Radiant Q&A Audio, I’m going to be chatting with these awesome chicks about comparison, finding your tribe of soul sisters, body love and more.
Radiance starts from within and as our skin is our largest organ, it’s a fabulous messenger for what is – and isn’t – working for our insides. My skin will always let me know (with a jolly big breakout), when I haven’t had enough sleep or I’ve eaten too much sugar. Most of the time however, my skin is perfect. And that sentence still brings a smile to my face!
Alright, so you’ve got perfect skin. What do you know about adult acne then?
You see, I battled with acne for over 13 years. That’s nearly half my lifetime. Ouch. So believe me when I say, I understand the frustration, obsession and negative self image that acne – mild, moderate or severe – brings about.
From my early teens and right into my mid-twenties, I’d taken every pill under the sun and tried every topical cream you can buy. I’d seen dermatologists, filled piles of prescriptions and ingested a myriad of chemical concoctions in the hope of waking up with clear skin.
I haven’t made my journey with Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) much of a secret. I’ve written here, here and here all about my experience coming off the contraceptive pill after over a decade of usage, only to find that my period didn’t come back – for a year!
Diagnosed with PCOS and given butt-loads of conflicting and confusing advice from friends, family, my GP, Google, books and blogs, it was a challenging and confronting year at times as I set out ‘debunking PCOS’. I’ve also made no secret about just how much Nat Kringoudis (as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist and Natural Fertility Educator as well as women’s wellness blogging SUPERSTAR), helped bring clarity to my situation and empowered me to make the best decisions for my body.
I’ll be honest, money and period pain don’t normally rank too high on my morning gratitude list. Family, friends, my biz, my boy and my health normally take the cake. But this month, I thought I’d dig a little deeper.
What am I really grateful for, right now? In this moment, what is supporting me? What am I learning from? What is my biggest teacher?
Well, as these things go, it’s the difficult and challenging elements of our lives that bring us the gold. It’s what we resist that brings us the most revealing insights, gems and revelations. So I dug deep – and this is what I came up with.
If there’s a lady that embodies the essence and truth behind what this segment is all about – women who are leading with heart, working hard from a a soul-centred space to bring fruition to their mission – it’s Natalie Kringoudis.
As a Natural Fertility Educator, Acupuncturist, Author and Speaker, Nat has without a doubt positively – and drastically – influenced the shape of my life and health over the past year or so. Initially her blog inspired me to discontinue the contraceptive pill and then provided a wealth of information and support when things didn’t quite go as planned.
And it’s not just me – through her blog, business, books, live events and online programs, Nat’s leading a whole new generation of women who are choosing nourishing, natural wellness and fertile health over modern medicine’s obsession with over-medication and gently reminding us our bodies are savvier, smarter and stronger than we often give them credit for. Yep, trail-blazer.
In person, she’s a delight! Crazy amounts of energy and enthusiasm – and such a babe. I was honoured to share my story with Nat on her site in a video interview recently and I’m bloody thrilled to have her gorgeous face on my blog today. Enjoy!
